This cutlass was used by sailors who once sailed the seas on a pirate ship. Blades of this type are extremely useful during long voyages, and any seafarer will have used one at least once before. During the course of the sailors' travels, it was used to slay countless monsters, and it's rumored to even be capable of defeating demons. Occasionally it will also channel its former owners to inflict Poison and Blind when attacking.
