Availability[ | ]
You can access the tower under Trials > Babel Tower. The tower is available permanently and resets once a month. Every time the event returns the Veda coin shop may have different items and sometimes new floors are added. When the event resets, all players will start on the floor after the highest one they have completed (i.e. if your highest floor completed is 43, when the event returns you will start on 44). If you have partially completed a floor and the Veda event resets, the state of the floor will not be remembered - you will have to clear the floor from scratch.
Rewards[ | ]
The first time you complete a floor you will receive an initial reward in addition to Zeni- repeat clears of floors give Veda coins (which can be used to purchase items from the Veda Coin Exchange) and Zeni. Initial rewards will never be given again, even on subsequent returns of Veda, you will always receive Veda coins for repeat floor clears.
Resetting the Tower[ | ]
Once you have cleared all currently available floors, you can reset the tower back to the 1st floor and clear it again. The first time you do this is free (once a month), subsequent resets cost gems, with the price increasing for each reset.
Mechanics[ | ]
- There is no AP cost for Veda quests
- Items can't be used
- Instead of a mercenary, you can bring 5 units and 2 subs
- Only units level 20 or above can be used in Veda
- Whenever completing a floor or losing, the health of the player units is remembered for all of Veda (but not jewel counts). Units which are petrified will be treated as dead. You will get one free heal every 12 hours which will restore all your units to alive and full health. You can use additional heals for gems (cost is proportionate to how long it is until your next free heal).
- Enemy units retain health and jewel count whenever you lose on a floor. This can be strategically used to slowly clear floors that may be beyond your skill level.
- If you retreat, it will be as if you never made that attempt and there is no cost associated with retreating. This can be used to practice floors to minimize loss of units until you find a strategy that's optimal.
Tips[ | ]
- On many floors there are plants that apply a defense x5 buff to the enemy units. This can make it extremely difficult to clear the floor. One approach to dealing with this buff is to use magic damage or defense penetrating attacks. If you have fast enough units with good range on some floors you can take the plant out before it casts. Alternatively, you can use suicide runs as a strategy- you can send one low level unit at a time in and let them die after the plant casts the buff, then repeat the process until the plant has no more jewels. At that point you can send in your damage team to clear the floor without having to deal with the buff.
- A professor or merchant or another unit that can cast status protection is highly recommended for some floors that have significant status effects. They can preventatively apply vaccine/poison pill to protect your units from these effects.
- You can check wytesong's Veda Tower Guide (GoogleDoc) for details and advice for the first 62 floors (as of February 2019). The guide is oriented towards the JP version of the game, but can still be a useful reference.
Floors[ | ]
All 100 floors of the tower are now available. Each floor in the tower must be completed before attempting the next one. The earlier floors are not difficult (first 7 are designed for level 20 and the second 7 for level 35) but it gets progressively harder on higher floors. Total gems acquired from the initial clear will be 4815. Initial clear rewards are not given after resetting Veda, they are a one time reward. Clearing all 100 floors (after having completed each floor once previously) will give you a total of 9270 Veda coins.
